Welcome to the second release of my Old Greeting Cards Edition! :) So right now, I'm featuring the cards given to me by two of my friends. Their names are Mevelyn and Emelech and we've been friends since Grade 5. Meve's a breath of fresh air to be with. She's the kind of person you can laugh with, mouth-wide-open-gums-exposed. Lech, however, was the grumpy one back then. Lol.
So again, this is where I am keeping these precious old cards. This envelope once housed my school rating card so it's kinda old and torn already.
I have labeled this envelope "Elementary Memories" so that it's easier for me to look for it amid all the chaos inside my room. :)
So what do I have in it? Wanna take a peak? I have already featured the "Pagmamahalan" pocket book written by my friend Dominic in my previous post. It's a cute love story written by a 12-year-old grade school kid. :)
So now, in my possession are three letters/cards from Meve. Her full first name is Mevelyn but it's too long for a nickname so we call her Meve. Or sometimes, I call her by her surname Baluis as my weird way of endearment. :)
I don't know but I feel like our childhood was more awesome even without all those gadgets. We could play in the rain and under the heat of the sun, get our knees scarred, laugh our heads off over some random joke, and tell stories to each other. Technology has, somehow, ruined that kind of childhood. Of course, this is debatable. It always depends on the person.
I'm going to make sure that my future kids will have as much fun (or more) as I had during mine. :)
If you can't read it properly, take a closer look.
This is what it looks like if you open it. There's a stationery inside. The letter says:
It was just a way of hoarding money from computer illiterate grade school students. Why, you ask? Because we were asked to buy books that were completely irrelevant to the topic and they cost thousands! Ugh.
There goes a corny joke. Well, how will I ever forget her name. She's one of my friends. Do you even forget your friends? -_-
Sorry if I didn't translate it to English for you. I just don't feel like doing so. Besides, I can't do another translation anymore. I might need a blood transfusion right after!
I'll be posting the next one tomorrow. If there are any typos, I would like to apologize. :)
I suggest you also scan those greeting cards so you have a digital documentation and archived copy to save those letters even when disaster strikes.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestion Rochkirstin! Will do! :)
DeleteAt least you experienced the old-school kind of greeting cards. Besides, memories are written not scanned.
