Found a quote that appeals so much to me. Photo from weheartit.
Now, is this quote real? Based from my personal experience? YES. This is so freaking real. How can I say that this is real?
Well basically, this is the attitude of the general, harsh population:
If you are BELOW them, they will empathize on you. So what they're gonna try to do is to help you. It makes them feel good about themselves too. They help you because they want to free themselves from guilt and silence their nagging conscience. Others help you because they want to be recognized as the one who helped you. There are some who even take pride in self-recognition, claiming that if it weren't for them, you won't be where you are.
If you are ON THEIR SAME LEVEL as they are, the chances of making friendship with them will be high. People generally want to be friends with people whom they can call their equal.
If you are ABOVE them, too bad, they will be insecure now and might even go as far as talking behind your back. They won't be good to you. Some will be intimidated, while some will hate you because you are better than they are.
So if you want to be in good terms with all kinds of people, you better know how to blend well, because the best relationships are established among people who are on the same level. If you are flexible in dealing with people, you'd have no problem.
It all boils down to being humble, kind, forgiving, generous and helpful. If you have all these traits and people still hate you, there's nothing wrong with you.
It's them who have a problem.
No matter what you do, you won't be able to solve their problem because you're not the correct formula. :)
Totally agree! We just have to be able to accept that no matter what, not everybody's gonna love you. And that's NOT your fault!
ReplyDeleteHi Mindy! Yes indeed. We cannot please everyone. Thanks for dropping by! :)
Deletewell I don't care about all these,If I like someone I try my best to be with them, make them my friend.Level is not a boundary for me.
ReplyDeleteThat means you're as flexible and sociable as you can be. Good for you Sir. :) Thanks for dropping by! :)
DeleteI also think it's true. Everyone wants to be better and really competitive. However, not everybody is perfect so no matter what you do, you are still not best at the eyes of others. Just stay true to yourself and you'll do good. :)
ReplyDeleteWell put! Thanks for sharing your comment Rochkirstin! :)
DeleteMaybe the background and culture of those people wanting others to be slightly poorer than them have great impact with their thinking.
DeleteIts true. As Rochkirstin Santos said: "Everyone wants to be better and really competitive".
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by Aries! :)
DeleteJust be yourself, be kind and be humble. If they still don't like you for who you are even when you aren't hurting anyone, that's their problem and no one can please everyone.
ReplyDeleteYou're right about it Jien. I learned it the hard way though, but that's the Philosophy I'm living right now. I guess I just grew really, really, REALLY tired of being people's slave and punching bag (emotionally).
DeleteI guess as we grow older, we learn about better ways to survive.
Too much selflessness, like what I once had, will kill you. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! :)
So true. And this is why, for the most part, I've learned not to care what others think. It's quite liberating, actually! :)
ReplyDeleteGah! this is so true! these people are those who have "crab mentality". They are acting as if they want you succeed but in fact, they want you to stay just behind them.
ReplyDeleteFlexibility and knowledge come to terms with each other. Trying your best to blend with different personalities and know their weaknesses will do. By giving them what they wanted but with such condition to explore their hidden agenda.
ReplyDeleteI think Envy is another word for that. If you are not on their level they can empathize because you are not a threat to them anyway,
ReplyDeleteThat's very realistic so my say is just do what you want the best way you can and let that stand on its own.
ReplyDeleteAwesome read! 110% right with this. There's a lot of people i know about this kind of behavior tsk tsk
ReplyDeleteYou can never really please everybody. I think you just have to make sure that you do the best you can and be the best that you can be. It is up to the if they want to be friends with you or not.
